As far as the law allows, I am not liable for any loss from using the tools. Rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or other laws that cannot be excluded, are not affected.

Adjie Brotools (tool.adjiebrotots.com) is a free personal project by Adjie Brotosukmono in Perth, Western Australia. Here "I" means Adjie, and "the tools" means every tool, guide, reference page, share link and embedded chart on this site. By using the tools you accept these terms. How your data is handled is in the Privacy Policy.

Free, as is, at your own risk

The tools are provided free, "as is" and "as available". I build them with care, but I do not promise they are accurate, complete, up to date, suitable for your purpose, always available or free of errors. Every result follows from the numbers you enter and from the tool's assumptions and simplified models, and real life has costs, rules and risks a tool leaves out. A projection is not a prediction. What you decide to do with a result is your own responsibility.

Not advice

The tools give general information only. They do not take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs, and they do not recommend any financial product, loan, investment or design.

Do not rely on a result to decide whether to buy, sell or hold a financial product. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance.
A borrowing estimate is not a credit assessment, pre-approval or offer of finance. Only a lender can tell you what it will lend.
Using a tool does not make me your adviser, tax agent or engineer.

Before you act, talk to someone qualified who knows your situation, such as a licensed financial adviser, a registered tax agent or tax consultant, a lawyer, a lender or broker, or a qualified engineer.

Notes for particular tools

Money, tax and property: Borrowing, tax, retirement, loan, rent or own, cost of living and price tools give estimates under the assumptions shown on each page. Tax and lending rules change and differ by country. The loan types guide is educational: its examples are illustrations, not offers, and it is not a statement of any country's law. Cost of living and price figures are averages from public sources and may not match your city or today's prices.
Engineering: The Load Flow Simulator, ED/UC Simulator, Capacity Expansion Planner and WEM Constraint Equation Checker give indicative results from simplified models and the data they hold. They are not a substitute for a validated study tool, official market or network data, or a qualified engineer's judgement. Do not use them alone for any design, operating, safety, trading, investment or policy decision. Review and test any code from the PowerFactory Script Generator, ideally on a copy of your project, before you run it.
Market data: The DCA tools fetch price history from Yahoo Finance, or Stooq as a fallback, through a small service I run. That data may be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and the service may be limited or stop. Tickers and names in the ticker reference may be out of date.
Other tools: Exchange rates, maps and time zone rules come from public sources and may be late or wrong. The Random Picker is for fun, not for prize draws, lotteries or anything legally binding.

Other people's data and sites

Some tools use data, maps or code from other services, and many pages link to other websites. I do not control them and am not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability. A link is not an endorsement. Names such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory and Yahoo Finance belong to their owners, and this site is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

Your saved work, links and embeds

Remembered inputs stay in your browser. Clearing browser data, or switching browser or device, loses them.
Scenario files are saved to your device. Keep your own copies; I hold none.
Share links carry your inputs inside the link, so anyone with the link can see them. You decide who gets it.
Embedded charts are a snapshot from when you made them and do not update. If you put one on a website, you are responsible for how it is used there.

I try to keep old files, links and embeds working after changes, but I cannot promise they always will.

Liability and your legal rights

To the maximum extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss or damage, however caused (including by negligence), that comes from using or relying on the tools, their results, or any third-party data or site. This includes loss of money, profit, savings, opportunity or data, and indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing on this page excludes, restricts or changes any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or under any other law (including the law of your own country) that cannot lawfully be excluded. If such a guarantee applies and the law lets me limit my liability for failing to meet it, my liability is limited to supplying the tool again or paying the cost of that. Nothing here limits liability for fraud or anything else the law does not allow to be limited.

Software licence

The source code is free software under the GNU General Public License version 3. You may use, change and share it under that licence, which provides the code without any warranty, to the extent the law permits. The licence covers the code only; data from other sources stays under its own terms.

Changes, law and contact

I may change, add or remove any tool or figure, or stop running the site, at any time. I may also update this page; the date at the top shows when, and the version here when you use the tools is the one that applies.

These terms are governed by the law of Western Australia, and the courts of Western Australia may hear any dispute about them. If any part cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
